Riding School

Details of PlumTree Riding School will be provided soon!

Continuing the theme of "taking the stress out of success" here at Plumtree
School of Equitation it is our aim to bridge the gap from learning to ride
to owning your own horse. We specialise in private tuition and small group
lessons to ensure the progress of our clients. An analogy would be that we
are a private school, not a comprehensive.

It will also be optional for you to have video footage of your lesson so
that in the comfort of your own home you can continue to learn. Personally I
have found watching the videos of my lessons and competitions invaluable to
my success.

Instruction will be given in the outdoor menege as well as in what we refer
to as "the camp". It is an enclosed area with cross country jumps and trees
to simulate hacking around the countryside without the dangers of the road.
The surface of the menege has been extensively researched as I have very bad
dust allergies myself from working in unsuitable equestrian environments. It
is almost dust free and last year there were only two days that it couldn't
be used due to severe frosts.

All our tuition is in the great outdoors as horse ownership very rarely has
access to an indoor school. From my own teaching experience learning in the
enclosed environment of an in door arena limits the progress of student's
development of feel and understanding of the horse. For example there are no
birds, wind, rain, unexpected noises, or even sunshine and heat in an indoor
school. For health and Safety reasons it is essential that students
understand how the horse responds to environmental changes and can be
confident in dealing with them, before they own their own horse.
Stable Management Lessons will also be provided so that caring for the horse
in all areas is covered.

Horses have been my life for all of my life they have given me so much
pleasure and taught me great communication skills, respect and
understanding. We compete together as a pair of equal athletes the
partnership couldn't exist without the other. Consequently it is the
ultimate relationship that requires complete dedication from both parties.
It is because of this bond and understanding that I have enjoyed that I feel
the desire to develop Plumtree School of Equitation. It is my way of giving
back to the horses for the years of pleasure that they have given me and
continue to give me I hope for the rest of my life. If we provide excellent
instruction and support to riders, it will ensure that horses are ridden and
cared for in the luxury that they truly deserve.
